A Unique Collaboration

Sometimes a cause is too important to let worry about our differences get in the way. Sometimes what we believe in common is greater than what separates us.

Relieving the human suffering caused by crime and imprisonment is one such cause, as evidenced by the extraordinary collaboration that is Prisons Week.

Growing year by year, Prisons Week currently sees 25 Christian denominations and organisations working together, sitting around one, very large, table. For many in the group it is by far the most comprehensive working group they ever see, and includes expert representatives from the Church of England and the Catholic Church, the Free Churches Group and the Salvation Army. Then there's the best of the prison ministry organisations including Prison Fellowship, Prison Advice and Care Trust and Caring for Prison Leavers. And working alongside all these and more are specialists from likes of the Bible Society, Mothers' Union and Youth for Christ. See our Sponsors page for the full list.

Prisons Week is a special place for all of us. It's a cause, a campaign, a ministry, place, and a movement that brings us together like no other, calling on all our skills and gifts to see God's kingdom come and his peace be established in a place of suffering and weeping.

And it is a honour to serve alongside one another in this unique collaboration.

This, in a nutshell is what we believe, how we work together and what we do. If you're new to Prisons Week this is the best place to start.

Prisons Week is a leading example of the broadest expressions of the church working together for a common good.
