Standing Firm

18th-24th November 2007

The 2007 campaign has been based on the lectionary passage for Prisons Sunday (Luke:21:5-19). The context of the passage is signs of the end and the time of testimony that precedes the end.

The disciples are warned that the end is not yet and that they will not be exempt from these tribulations, but they need not be overwhelmed by them. It is by “standing firm” that they witness to the truth of the Gospel and by “standing firm” they will gain life.

The 2007 campaign identifies a variety of groups within the criminal justice system who, like the disciples, need to stand firm; the Courts, victims, those working in prison, those outside helping to rehabilitate prisoners, families and the prisoners themselves.

The 2007 Prisons Week leaflet is A5 size. The face of the leaflet depicts the "Standing Firm" image accompanied by the Prisons Week logo and 2007 campaign dates. Opening to an A4 spread the leaflet contains thoughts and prayers on the themes of the Courts, victims, those working in prison, those outside helping to rehabilitate prisoners, families and prisoners.   This year's Prisons Week Poster is A4 size depicting the "Standing Firm" image accompanied by the Prisons Week logo and 2007 campaign dates.
